Meet Ferrah!
In this section of Friends of Indochine, we want you to get to know our servers better. We are very happy with them, we think they are great, and we want you to think so too!

Every month or so we will feature one of the fun folks at our restaurant. Perhaps it is your favorite bartender, an astute server, or one of our hard working chefs de cuisine. We will introduce you to their background, their goals, their accomplishments, their interests, and other fun stuff such as their likes and dislikes.

Being an Indochine employee is all about being hip and cool… to customer service where enthusiasm is the name of the game! At Indochine we don’t expect all servers to approach their tables in exactly the same rehearsed way every time, but we do expect that they approach each table with a genuine effort to determine each customer’s desires and the genuine ability to meet all of their needs.

Fabulous Ferrah Roberts
Our first featured employee, Ferrah Roberts, has been at Indochine since late 2006. In terms of ‘seniority’, this places her 5th overall for the longest standing employee in the Indochine Front of the House Staff!

Ferrah Roberts is an accomplished young woman that we are very proud of. She is a native of Tacoma and a role model to all young Tacomans.

Ferrah graduated from Curtis High School in 2005.  At Curtis she was a Varsity Cheerleader and volunteered for many community activities throughout her four years there.  In the fall of 2005, she started her First Degree at Western Washington University in Bellingham.  She graduated in just four years with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Psychology. Ferrah considered continuing on after graduation for an advanced degree, but decided instead to work full time here at the restaurant.  We couldn’t be more pleased. In addition to her usual service duties around the restaurant, we challenge Ferrah with management, administrative, and development tasks too. Ferrah has been helping with Banquet Room bookings, hiring and training, and even helping in the kitchen with new menu item development.

On a personal level, Ferrah loves being healthy by staying fit with running and hot yoga and by eating Health Foods, lots of which she cooks herself here at Indochine. When she isn’t working hard at Indochine Ferrah is enjoying these beautiful summer months in the sun by the water, spending time with family and friends, or buying a brand new dress to celebrate her birthday, graduation, turning 21, or just for the fun of it. Ferrah also loves watching movies and reading good books, so if she serves you, ask her about her favorite new book! She loves biographies of famous people.

At the restaurant, Ferrah’s has tried everything on the menu and her favorite dish is the Yin & Yang Ahi. Have her recommend a dish or two the next time you are in with friends or family, she may pick that one dish that really brings together all the flavors of your next ‘Family Style’ meal.

Ferrah has dislikes too though, but, they are kinda cute: Ferrah dislikes it when she misses breakfast, she dislikes not hearing from family and friends on special days like birthdays and holidays, and she really dislikes reading boring textbooks. (Good thing she is done with that degree!) Other than that, Ferrah’s life really is full of fun things she likes to do!
